Osteoporosis

I love reading the newsletters written by dr.Mercola. Based upon what I have read over the years, I can tell you that his letters are absolutely worth while reading.

Underneath I quote from his article that is titled:

The Truth about Osteoporosis and Calcium Deficiency

I'm sure you've heard that the cause of osteoporosis and the key to its prevention revolve around calcium, right?

Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth.

Dr. Robert Thompson, M.D., wrote an entire book on this subject called, The Calcium Lie, which explains that bone is comprised of at least a dozen minerals and the exclusive focus on calcium supplementation is likely to worsen bone density and increase your risk of developing osteoporosis!

As mentioned in this previous article, Dr. Thompson recommends the use of unprocessed salt as a far healthier alternative to calcium supplementation.

I recommend using Himalayan salt as it is an excellent way to feed your body the trace minerals it needs to function optimally.


Gluten Intolerance and Bone Loss

Is your stomach often upset?

Chronic gas, nausea, bloating, diarrhea, constipation and brain fog could all be signs of an undiagnosed gluten intolerance.

Gluten is a protein found in grains such as wheat, rye and barley. According to statistics from the University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center, an average of one out of every 133 otherwise healthy people in the United States suffer from celiac disease (CD) but previous studies have found this number could be as high as 1 in 33 in at-risk populations.

Those with undiagnosed gluten intolerance often have malabsorption of nutrients due to chronic intestinal damage. This means that your body is unable to optimally take nutrients from food and distribute them throughout your body.

This malabsorption of nutrients can lead to osteoporosis.

If you often experience the above-mentioned symptoms, a gluten free diet may be the key you need to experience great health, perhaps for the first time in your life.

Other Foods that Lead to Bone Loss

Processed and fast foods are the worst stuff you can put into your body. In order for your body to function optimally, it needs the type of balanced diet that I suggest in the next section.

Processed foods such as potato chips, french fries, microwaveable "meals", soda and candy contain very little nutrients and are chock full of undigestible fats and dangerous additives such as high fructose corn syrup, aspartame and preservatives.

When cooking, I advise you to avoid most all omega-6 based oils such as corn, safflower or soy oil. These oils are loaded with highly processed, damaged omega 6 fats, which contribute to inflammation in your body.

Instead, I recommend using healthful olive- and coconut oils.


Foods that Prevent Bone Loss

I recommend eating a wide variety of organic, preferably locally grown vegetables to get a proper balance of essential vitamins and minerals into your body. An easy way to increase the amount of vegetables in your diet is vegetable juicing.


Osteoporosis in Men

Here is something about osteoporosis in men you may not have realized: Men over the age of 50 are at greater risk for developing osteoporosis than prostate cancer. Men develop this disease because of a condition called hypogonadism, which may lead to shrinking by several inches. Risk factors in men include:

* Alcoholism
* Obesity
* Smoking
* Gastrointestinal disorders
* Sedentary lifestyle
* Lack of sunlight exposure

Men with pre-existing conditions such as asthma, emphysema, Crohn's disease, herniated disks, and autoimmune disease taking steroids such as prednisone or cortisone are increasing their risk of developing osteoporosis that much further.

Emphysema

A while ago I met someone suffering from emphysema. It made me do some research and this it what I found.

Emphysema is a long-term, progressive disease of the lungs that primarily causes shortness of breath. Most of the people who have emphysema are smokers. The primary cause is the smoking of cigarettes. Damage caused by emphysema is permanent even after the person stops smoking.

Let’s have a look at addictions in general and at smoking in particular.

Smoking, alcohol, sex, illegal drugs, compulsive eating, compulsive gambling, whatever you want to name it.... is an addiction.
What I am going to write is written without blaming or judging.
I simply give data and in the data there simply is information.

An addiction is a craving.
Addicts are people who crave something.
What are they craving?
These people have called off their search for the cause of the craving too early.
They get themselves stuck on a substitute level.
I believe that every real search leads to a discovery and so to its own fulfilment.
I find the most rewarding fulfilment in my personal journey on my way to personal development.
All the great heroes of mythology and literature are engaged in searches or quests.
Just think of the following examples: Odysseus, Don Quixote, Parsifal, Faust.
All these heroes do not stop searching until they have attained their goal.
We are all involved in some kind of odyssey or quest.
Some of us keep on searching until we find our goal.
Others stop searching because they are afraid of the trials and the dangers, the troubles and the confusions and they turn themselves into addicts.
What we then do is that we come besotted with the substitute (for instance the cigarettes) and we never tire of it.
We refuse to admit that we have mistaken our goal and that we need to go on looking.
We are firmly in the grip of fear, denial, and delusion.
Many addicts think they do not have the courage to face the fear of new experiences.
True seekers, as opposed to addicts, are people who view life as a journey and are always on the move.

As far as cigarettes are concerned..............
Smoking is linked to airways and lungs.
Breathing is communication.

I wear blue clothes when I am working with clients Blue is the colour of the sky and all over the world all living things are linked to each other with the same air we breathe in and out. Blue is the colour of the communication energy point in our throat. By wearing blue clothes I make a statement: I am interested in communication.

Breathing is communication.
Breathing is contact.
Breathing is freedom.
Smoking is our attempt to stimulate communication, contact and freedom.

The lies of the advertising industry are deliberately aiming at these basic human longings for communication, contact and freedom.
Think of the so-called freedom of the cowboy or the so-called freedom of the pilot, the so-called freedom of travelling and meeting so-called attractive people.
Our human longings are real, but what the cigarettes offer us are substitutes and the advertising industry is manipulating us because their clients simply want to make lots of money by turning us into addicts.

The 12 steps

The 12 steps for the AA became also the 12 steps for hundreds of other self help groups.
You can find information about the AA in wikipedia and you can replace the word alcohol by whatever other substance or behaviour you admit you are addicted to.
I prefer not to speak about god because the word god has been abused for many centuries by organized religions that are until now a real nightmare for humankind.
For myself I speak about the Universe or the Universal Consciousness.
I do know that what is for me the Power of the Universe cannot be a HIM.
It is a consciousness without gender.
Organized religions have used the word HIM in order to abuse the feminine half of humankind during many centuries and fanatics are still doing it today.

Robin Norwood has for instance based her self help system on the original AA steps.

As far as the Natural Tissue Salts after dr Schuessler are concerned, my advice for persons who suffer from emphysema is to take the following combination that will certainly help with the withdrawal symptoms of nicotine:

Nr 6 Kalium sulfuricum: 5 tablets per day

Nr 7 Magnesium phosphoricum : several times per day a HOT 7.

Nr 8 Natrium chloratum: 5 tablets per day

Nr 10 Natriuim sulfuricum: 10 tablets per day.

Nr 21 Zincum chloratum: 3 tablets per day. (P.Holford speaks in his nutrition advice about the importance of zinc).

You can buy NTS in a local pharmacy but you might pay more and you might not have the best quality.

Muscle cramps

Recently I received the following email regarding MUSCLE CRAMPS:

Since we met I have been reading a little more about the Natural Tissue Salts, there functions etc, and it is really fascinating,. The more I read the more I see that I could do with taking some. Although I am better now, I have suffered badly from cramps in any muscle...even in my tongue and I do get run down..... Maybe we could have a consultation sometime in the near future.

If you have been suffering from muscle cramps, the first thing to do is check your bedroom and the spot where your bed is standing. If this spot is polluted by EMF radiation, by magnetism, by electrical devices, then get rid of them, change the position of your bed and check if there are cables underneath the bed, plugs close to your head and/or cables in the walls.
The best position for a bed is North-South, whereby our head is lying in the northern direction.

Living under the negative influence of electrosmog or in a stressful situation creates a deficiency of nr 7 Magnesium phosphoricum. That deficiency opens the door for cramps. Especially for women, muscle cramps show us that there is a deficiency of Calcium. If untreated this deficiency will eventually lead to osteoporosis. Thinking we are living under a threat, or in a fearful situation also depletes our bodies of Calcium.

Ask yourself the following questions.

1. Do you have a craving for coffee? How many cups do you drink per day? If the answer is YES, then you must know that cramps are linked to a high level of acidity in the body and coffee is increasing this level. Nr 2 Calcium phosphoricum will help the body neutralizing the acid.

2. Do you have sometimes cravings for smoked fish or smoked meat, for ketchup or mustard? If the answer is YES, then you have a very big deficiency of nr 2 Calcium phosphoricum.

3. Do you sometimes have a craving for chocolate?
If the answer is YES, then you have a big deficiency of nr 7 Magnesium phosphoricum.

When we have been going through a very difficult period in our lives some of us tend to crawl in a corner and suffer in loneliness. It means that we more or less, cut ourselves off from the world, that we do not know who we are anymore, that we have lost confidence and we do not want other people to know it, then we need to take nr 13 Kalium arsenicosum in order to get back on our feet.

A good combination of NTS for this person is:

Nr 2 Calcium phosphoricum , one tablet every 30 minutes if pain is acute and 10 tablets per day as prevention
Nr 7 Magnesium phosphoricum 7 tablets per day
Nr 9 Natrium phosphoricum (regulates the level of acidity in our body) 7 tablets per day
Nr 13 Kalium arsenicosum: 3 tablets per day

As far as nr 7 Magnesium phosphoricum is concerned, I have to tell you that you can take the 7 tablets as a HOT 7. It means that you dissolve 7 tablets of nr 7 in a glass of hot water and drink its contents slowly, sip after sip, while keeping each sip as long as you can in you mouth, let us say for one minute.
An ideal way of taking a HOT 7 is to drink the glass containing the solution in the morning after getting up and in the evening before going to bed. There is a saying that a HOT 7 switches the light on in the morning and off in the evening.

By taking NTS you can replenish the stocks of minerals in your cells, i.e. on the micro level. But you also need to replenish your stocks on the macro level, i.e. with good organic food.
Examples of food containing Calcium: Beans, Edam cheese, Emmentaler cheese, peas, lentils, nuts, Parmesan cheese, cellery, whole meal bread, cauliflower, salads, potatoes, carrots, apples, oranges, strawberries, cherries, grapes etc...
As many people do not want to make an effort and adapt their diet I have good news for you.

For each of the first 12 minerals, the Austrian pharmacy owned by Thomas Feichtinger is also making 12 different food supplements. It means that, by taking the NTS tablets and the Ortho capsules together, you can replenish your stocks of minerals, both on the micro- and on the macro level.

If you are suffering from muscle cramps I would advise you to also apply the Gel containing Nr 2 Calcium phosphoricum on the spots where you are having the cramps.

Autumn has arrived

Autumn has arrived.At least if you are not living in South Africa because in that country springtime has arrived.

On the Costa Blanca it means that temperatures have dropped.

Leaving the house every morning for the first walk of the day with the dogs I always have a look at the thermometer. When a few days ago it could still be 14 or 15 degrees Celcius it was only 6 degrees this morning. I cannot walk anymore with a T-shirt but need 4 layers of clothing.

It means that our body has to adapt to lower temperatures.
As the days are getting shorter, we can spend less hours in the sunshine.
And if we are eating organic food we can see that what is on offer is different from what we were eating in summertime.
At home we have to switch on some heating in the mornings and in the evenings.
While making an effort adapting ourselves to these environmental changes we are using more of the natural minerals we have in our body.
In order to enable ourselves to adapt smoothly to all the seasonal changes we can make what I like to call an Autumn Mix that will boost our immune system with the following Natural Tissue Salts after dr. Schuessler:

Schuessler natural minerals

Dear Schuessler Friend,

Whenever I speak about Schuessler minerals (Natural Tissue Salts) people tend to ask
me the same sort of questions.
For that reason I intend to write to you on a regular basis with information about NTS. This is not meant to be a one-way communication. I am looking forward to your comments about your experiences and your questions.

In this blog I want to talk about some of the basic discoveries made by dr. Schuessler.

A disturbance of the body is a disturbance of the cells.
The disturbance of the cells is caused by a deficiency of anorganic salts (=minerals) in the cells.
The disturbance of the cells and of the body can be reversed by taking Natural Tissue Salts (NTS).
In order to be able to actively replenish the cells with minerals the NTS have to be potentiated (=diluted).
The greater the mineral deficiency in our cells, the faster the tablets will dissolve and the sweeter they will taste.

The NTS tablets have to be put in the mouth where we let them dissolve, enabling the minerals to enter the cells through the mucous membrane.
Another way of taking NTS is dissolving them in water. In the course of the day we will now and then take a sip and keep the water in our mouth as long as we can before swallowing it.

Overdosing with NTS is impossible. One litre of mineral water contains as many minerals as 1.000 kg of NTS.

If you "forget" to take your daily dose of NTS, do not worry. Accept it. It can be your body telling you that you did not need the NTS in the course of that day.
Just restart taking the NTS when you feel like it.
